The QM service project has involved
installing lights on an unlit flag pole at the Union Cemetery in Redwood
City. The flag pole
has been unlit for decades and has flown the National Ensign both night and
day, over the Civil War memorial section of the cemetery.
The service project involved repairing the cemetery sign, re-fitting the flagpole, and getting three special lights donated, each worth $700.
The "Flag Raising" of the new flag pole was on February 19, 2005, the anniversary of the US landing at Iwo Jima. |
