On October 11,
2003, the Gryphon
continued its long tradition of cruising to Fleet Week in San Francisco
Bay. The Gryphon crew,
family, and friends enjoyed the parade of Navy and Coast Guard ships and
air show, including the Canadian Snow Birds and Blue Angels. |
| The Coast
Guard requested several Sea Scout Ships to help form the "Air Box" and
"Security Zone" for the Fleet Week Parade of Ships and Air Show.

The S.S.S. Gryphon and S.S.S. Chaser's
positions on the security line. |
|

The Gryphon's radar screen
shows a sea of green, representing the some of the San Francisco city
front, Alcatraz, and many, many, boats.
Notice the Gryphon's location on the line. |
