The Pacific Skyline Council 2005 Bridge of Honor welcomed a new Sea Scout to the rank of Quartermaster, Jason Lawrence. |

Sea Scout Ships present included the
Gryphon, Challenger, Morning Star, Sea Eagle, and the Mariner Ship
Tradewind. One member of the Tradewind crew was presented the
Helmsman Award. Sea Scout advancement and recognition included Sea
Scouts being presented with the ranks of Apprentice, Ordinary, Able, and
Long Cruise Badges. Special Guests included Pacific Skyline President and Western Region Vice President Bill Stark and the Executive Officer from Coast Guard Group San Francisco, Commander Johnson. |

Jason Lawrence comes from a Sea Scout
family. Jason's father grew up in the Challenger and his mother on
the Tradewind. His father is the Gryphon's engineering officer and
mother the engineering officer on the Tradewind. His brother is both
an Eagle Scout and Quartermaster.
Jason has had an impressive Scouting career. He started as a Cub Scout and continued in Scouting. Jason earned his Eagle in 2001. Jason attended the National Jamboree and the first Koch Cup in 2002. In 2003 as Boatswain of the Gryphon, Jason and several shipmates went to Philadelphia to receive the National Flagship Award. Jason's service project involved lighting an unlit US Flag that flies continuously over a Civil War Cemetery in Redwood City. A veteran of haul outs, cruising, and many other adventures, Jason is very deserving of the rank of Quartermaster. |
